PYP’s Young String Ensemble (YSE) and conductor Inés Voglar Belgique (the Oregon Symphony’s Assistant Principal Second Violin) invite families and their little ones to a fun introduction to classical music! PYP’s annual family-friendly Cushion Concert will take place virtually on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 10:00 AM PT.

This year’s concert is a celebration of living women composers, featuring new music written especially for YSE by American musicians Laura Brackney and Sakari Dixon Vanderveer, Russian composer Polina Nazaykinskaya, and Cuban composer Keyla Orozco. The concert will also include instrument demonstrations and a few recognizable works from popular films.

Free and “pay-what-you-can” tickets are available now at www.portlandyouthphil.org/family.
