Oregon Mozart Players (OMP) will premiere their final 2020-21 Season virtual performance, “Courage” on May 15, 2021 at 7:30 PM. Under the direction of OMP Artistic Director & Conductor Kelly Kuo, OMP will feature winners of their 2020 Young Soloist Competition Ian Song, violin and Maggie Carter, double bass on Vivaldi’s “Winter” from The Four Seasons and Vanhal’s Concerto for Double Bass & Orchestra, respectively. Additional works on the program will be Mozart’s Divertimento in F Major, K. 138 and Quinn Mason’s Princesa de la Luna.
This program, recorded in High Definition Audio & 1080p Video, celebrates the fearlessness of youth, featuring the brilliant talents of four young musicians. After opening with a work by impressive composer, Quinn Mason, just in his 20s but already making waves in the classical music world, two winners of OMP’s previous Young Soloist Competition finally get their chance to perform after a pandemic intermission, and OMP’s Assistant Conductor, Daniel Cho, concludes his tenure with a performance of one of Mozart’s delightful divertimentos.
Quinn Mason (b. 1996) is a composer and conductor based in Dallas, Texas. Quinn has been described as “a brilliant composer just barely in his 20s who seems to make waves wherever he goes.” (Theater Jones) and “One of the most sought after young composers in the country” (Texas Monthly).
Those interested in viewing this performance can receive on-demand access until June 14, 2021 with a “Pay-What-You-Can” donation (Suggested Donation $25; Minimum $5).
