For audiences craving a summertime live music experience, Third Angle New Music presents “Fresh Air Fest” an outdoor new music mini-festival located at the idyllic Topaz Farm, just 10-miles from downtown Portland on Sauvie Island. The fun all starts on Sunday, July 11 beginning at 3:30 pm and includes three one-hour sets (with breaks in between), featuring some of your favorite 3A artists.
Steel pan music kicks off the first set of 3A’s Fresh Air Fest with percussion powerhouses Andy Akiho and Sandbox Percussion’s Ian Rosenbaum. Set #2 creates a synesthetic burst of joy and beauty as Team 3A carries Debussy’s famous flute, viola, and harp chamber ensemble into the 21st century. Bringing the evening to a close, rockstar percussionist Chris Whyte takes center stage with works including Christopher Cerrone’s haunting Memory Palace and the premiere of Whyte’s newest composition, commissioned by 3A, about Oregon winemaking.
